GRI Marks 15 Year Milestone

GRI commenced its journey in 2002, when its founder and managing director, Prabhash Subasinghe, built a tyre manufacturing plant near Colombo, Sri Lanka. The factory was built with the capacity to manufacture over 400,000 tyres annually. GRIs global out-reach expands to over 50 countries worldwide and a network of sales offices in 6 countries, covering the United States, Europe and Asia.

January 2017 saw the ground-breaking for GRI’s new Specialty Tyre (ST) Factory, on 10 acres of industrial land adjacent to its current factory site. When it opens in January 2018, the new GRI factory will be the largest and most advanced in Sri Lanka, dedicated to produce specialty tyres and the first to produce radial agriculture tyres. Its production machines will signal a step-up in technological innovation, while its sustainable development focus will be evidenced by way of solar panels, biomass boilers and recyclable waste management systems.
