BKT Tyres enjoy Success at World Ploughing Championships
Bruce Redmond claiming first place for NZ in the Conventional Category
Competitors from 33 countries around the world recently gathered in Methven to contest the 57th World Ploughing Championship with BKT tyres proving the tyre of choice for many competitors.
Manufactured in India, BKT has been growing rapidly internationally as a leading manufacturer of off highway tyres. With tyres exported to more than 115 countries worldwide many international competitors chose BKT tyres for the NZ competition after competing successfully on the brand in their own country. BKT tyres featured strongly on tractors competing in the international event as well as the supporting NZ championships held in conjunction with the event.
Results on the day saw NZ competitor and 6 time National Champion Bruce Redmond win the Conventional category driving a Ford tractor fitted with BKT tyres. BKT also achieved a podium finish in the reversible category with New Zealander Paul Henson achieving third position.

Distributed in New Zealand by TRS Tyre and Wheel Limited, the BKT brand has grown to become the largest selling brand of agricultural tyres in NZ, something that testifies to the quality and performance of the brand according to Andrew Gillam, Marketing Manager for TRS.
BKT has made a commitment to world ploughing with their sponsorship of the NZ event following a similar commitment to the 2009 world championships held in Slovenia. BKT chose the NZ event to announce their intention to continue their sponsorship commitment to the 2011 event to be held in Sweden.
“World Ploughing provides ideal conditions to demonstrate the quality and performance of the BKT product and with so many competitors choosing the product; it is only natural that we return their loyalty with our commitment to sponsor the event. We are very pleased that BKT tyres featured in the results achieved by competitors at the event,” said Sandesh Jain, Sr. Dy. General Manager for the tyre manufacturer.
